At the same time there is also a growing demand for the use of wireless devices. The batteries commonly known as coin cells play a central role here. We have been manufacturing these premium products for many years and have now become one of the leading merchants on the global market. To maintain our position we are investing not only in the development of new battery types, but also in the automation of our production lines for our current product assortment.
The most modern in their class
Our newest, in-house developed production line is our fully automated silver oxide line. It is globally one of the most modern of its kind and offers considerable advantages – from a greatly increased production capacity, to flexible planning on down to full reverse trackability of each individual coin cell. Product quality is particularly emphasized – all quality-related steps are monitored 100% in-line.
Everything on one Line
The mechanical, electrical and optical inspections of the batteries, and also their manufacture, assembly, final processing and final inspection take place 100 percent in-line. Daniel Hunziker, Head of Strategic Projects, emphasizes:

We developed a new, rechargeable ICR2430 cell for the new Tissot T-Touch Connect smartwatch, which only needs to be charged once every six months.
Consciously sustainable
As a subsidiary of Swatch Group SA, Renata SA operates its own silver button cell recycling facility - with an annual capacity of up to 250 million batteries.
